The Living Monument Project

About

 

Sigal Bussel (b. 1972) lives and works in Los Angeles, California. In her quest to create a universal face, Bussel has realized over twenty large scale installations - among these a 100ft x 30ft installation on Israel's Philharmonic Orchestra building. Her work has been exhibited extensively around the world including at the Beijing World Art Museum in Beijing, China; the National Gallery for Foreign Art in Sofia, Bulgaria; the United States Embassy in Beijing, China; Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.; and Habima Square in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Bussel's work is in private and public collections in seven countries and is included in the collections of Bulgaria's Ministry of Culture and the National Gallery for Foreign Art. Bussel has loaned and donated her work to various public institutions; and has donated her time to the communities where she works and exhibits. She is a Fulbright grant recipient and has received a number of acknowledgements for her work. Bussel holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master's degree from Harvard University.
